Doublespeak misleads the reality and thoughts of people who don’t really understand what is being said. It seems as if doublespeak is used more often in hierarchy as a way to ‘beat around the bush’. When you hear the name Bill Clinton, what do you think of? Do you remember him as the forty second president? Does the Whitewater or sex scandal come to mind? In the late spring of 1998 a major scandal broke that involved the president of the United States and a young intern working at the White House that was half his age. For the next eight months the steamy details of the embarrassing scandal dominated the newspapers and the media.
