Did Anti War Activists End the Vietnam War
Did Anti-War Activists End the Vietnam War? The question to be argued in this debate is wether or not the anti-war activists ended the Vietnam War. The answer to that question should be obvious at the end of this essay. No the anti-war activists did not end the war but they did play significant roles in how the war was fought. In fact the argument can be made that these protests from anti-war activists only prolonged the war. What ended this war was simply a lack of leadership. When it comes down to it that is what ended the war. The Vietnam War seemed to be going fairly well until the Tet offensive in January of 1968. This was traditionally a time of truce during the war to celebrate the new year. ... This just threw more doubt in the minds of all Americans that maybe we can’t make good on our promise to keep South Vietnam non-communist.
