The telephone comes along with many monthly fees, as well as time fees, and even long distance fees. One can pay top dollar for the best telephone service in the world, and still have to worry about connection fees to a different country. The internet, however, has a fee of as low as nine dollars a month, along with the fact that America Online Instant Messenger Service is free. ... The telephone restricts one from talking to foreign friends and family because of these fees, and may also restrict those long distance talks to a friend across the country.
