I look forward to college every day I wake up. ... Upward Bound is one program for the “underprivileged,” that requires a student to qualify by having their family’s income meet certain guidelines and being a descendant of a family that has not been in college. ... Did you know that five percent of the committee’s decision is based on whether or not the student is a minority, “poverty-stricken,” or international? ... 0 GPA’s and near identical SAT scores applied for admission into the same university, the minority would have a five percent better chance of being accepted than the American, who is being neglected because he is misfortunate enough to be an ordinary white, Caucasian, American.
