Name of book: Sweet Valley High- Left At the Alter Author: Francine Pascal Character Analysis Jessica Wakefield Jessica is one the Wakefield twins; Elizabeth is her identical twin. They may have the same blonde hair and blue eyes, with a tall, slender figure, but their personalities are very opposite. She’s known as the more irresponsible twin. And she is definitely not as mature as Elizabeth is. Jessica has hardly any interest in her studies, and is usually caught up in dating and friends. Plus, she’s boy-crazy! She has to be, because how many people would break up a wedding, for a guy that’s 7 years older then you, not to mention the other awkward qualities of Jeremy. She worries about only a few things: a) Clothes- she wears only designer clothes b) The way she looks- she always tries to dress to impress, and will change 4 or 5 times before picking her outfit. c) And last but not least, Jeremy, Jeremy, and Jeremy! Jessica can be very sneaky and disobeying. She sneaks out of the house to be with Jeremy on numerous occasions, behind her parents, and Sue’s back. I would also call her inconsiderate of others, because she doesn’t tell Sue about her and her own fiancée, and she even begs Jeremy to call off the wedding. Elizabeth Wakefield Elizabeth is Jessica’s identical twin. And is the complete opposite of her sister, both 16 years of age. The “all-American girls”, with blonde hair, tall and skinny, rather original. Unlike Jessica, Elizabeth is all about her schoolwork and has numerous outside of school activities that our educational. Elizabeth is very responsible; she wakes up early on weekends to cook breakfast for her family. And she often feels responsible for Jessica’s behavior. She has a pretty good concept of the world, and is able to keep a steady boyfriend through it all.
