A CHILD CALLED IT NATASHA WILLIAMS JANUARY 4, 2004 In the story "A Child Called It", David was abused mentally and physically. His mother was a frustrated drunk. She was probably driven out of her insanity because she felt that somehow the boy was a threat to the family or the relationship between mom and dad. The mother probably felt as if the father was paying closer atttention to the boy more than the rest of the family. The father played the role of the problem solver. He was like a miracle to the boy, his only hope to survive. The worse part that was hard dealing with was when she wanted him to stand on the stove and watch him burn. She desired him to eat the defacation of the new baby boy Russell. There is always another side to a story and I would love to hear her side. She was probably deppressed and needed some body to blame it on.
