... After all, the institution where they decide to further their education will play a large role in the overall texture of their adult life. Through my experience and my readings, I developed a process plan, which I think would be helpful in making the best possible decision as to which college to attend.
First, I think the students should determine what is important for them in selecting a college. They should think in terms of:
a) Location, whether they want to attend college near to hometown, or willing to travel;
b) Size, whether they want to attend bigger college or prefer going to smaller college with more personnel attention;
c) Type, whether they want to attend public colleges or willing to pay more and study in private colleges. ... In order to come up with this list, they may want to talk to other family members or friends and their school counselor. ... Some admission officers suggest applying to at least four colleges: the best school a student can get into, two where a student might be accepted and one where a person is certain he or she will be admitted.
