... Amos is a bold African American woman who has a “taking care of business” attitude, which draws attention from all sides of the spectrum. However, having an African American woman promoting cleaning supplies, is bound to raise a few eyebrows. African Americans alone draw many stereotypes, as do women. Putting those two together creates a whole knew range of stereotypes.
     African Americans in general have many stereotypes, which are lurking around with everything they do. In today’s society, African Americans are still considered the minority and often treated as though being the minority is a negative label. The most common stereotypes about African Americans include; being loud, aggressive, opinionated, overbearing, and violent, just to name a few. However, these stereotypes aren’t valid unless one was to say that, everyone could be all of the traits listed above. ... In the Pine-Sol ad, Amos has a stereotypical attitude for an African American woman, in her distinct aggressive attitud. ... Being from a small town in Wisconsin, I know just about every stereotype about African Americans. Our African American Population is approximately 5%. In high school, the only way any of us knew African Americans was from movies and the artists of the music we listened to.
