Article ABSTRACT:

This paper will examine different ways that Marvel Enterprises uses technology within the operating of their company. Throughout the past several years, Marvel has emerged as a leader in the entertainment business, an avenue which is dominated by technological advances. Over the years, Marvel has adapted to the growing demand for these advances and has responded with great stamina as their company continues to excel.

Overview of Marvel Enterprises:

Marvel Enterprises is a company which owes most of its success to Stan Lee. ... While in its beginning days, Marvel was run out of another company, Timely Publications, as a small comic book producing sector with no fame or glory. ...
From the creation of Stan Lee’s characters, such as Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Incredible Hulk, and the Fantastic Four, it wasn’t long before Marvel was a household name. (Graham, 2003)
Today Marvel operates on many fronts. ... Some of the companys toys include action figures and games based on Marvel characters. Recently, though, they have released items based on non-Marvel characters, including figures from the Lord of the Rings movies. In addition to its success in the toy market, Marvel is also one of the worlds leading comic book publishers and licenses its characters for use in movies, TV shows, clothing, video games, and other products. A group of shareholders, including vice chairman Isaac Perlmutter and Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad, own about 45% of Marvel (Bills, 2004).
Of course, due to the nature of these products, and the appeal of the superheroes, Marvel’s target market is heavily males 18 to 34 years old.
