... I have found that the best way to get information about interesting jobs was to become a volunteer. As a volunteer I do not have to stay at a position if I do not like the position, I do not have to worry about personnel reviews and I don’t have to worry about getting laid off. The city of Phoenix offers a wide range of positions in a variety of areas in which to volunteer. There is a volunteer position for just about every person who wants to make a difference in their lives and maybe even others’ lives along the way. For those who wanted to be a Firefighter or like the excitement it can offer, there are some great volunteer programs that will put the volunteer on the front lines.
