Suicide The Inevitable
Suicide is never inherently wrong because it is a personal choice which is influenced by our beliefs, our emotions and our situation. ... I do not argue that suicide is right and that it is a viable solution to all of our problems, but I do believe that it should be viewed as a personal choice and should not be frowned upon. The problems arise when the motives for suicide are questioned. Those who argue that suicide is “wrong” argue that it is a sin, that it represents failure and that it can always be prevented. They believe that suicide can never be a rational decision. ... They see suicide as their only option. If they were to think rationally, it is possible that they would change their mind, and realize that suicide is not the solution. ... When the motives of a potential suicide victim are questioned, we often hear terms like “cowardly” and “selfish”. ... Often people will say that suicide is the coward’s way out. Suicide is for those who are not strong enough to deal with life. ... With such cowardly and selfish motives, suicide must be wrong. Another reason why suicide is simply wrong is because it is completely preventable. ... Suicide is the same way. There is no reason for anyone to feel desperate enough to believe that suicide is the only way out. ... Suicide cannot be a rational decision, because anyone thinking rationally will realize that their motives are selfish and cowardly, and that in the end, they are not justified. ... Suicide is a choice.
