Not For Ourselves Alone Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony
... I did not realize that there was this long journey that women had to go through. When you think about how long ago it was, it was not that long ago! ... What if these brave women had not met, or had not had the urge to make women’s lives better? ... I think it is very interesting how Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony were two totally different people that grew up in different lifestyles, but still could become such good friends. ... Stanton wrote the speeches, but had to stay home most of the time to take care of her family, so she could not travel and read them at the conventions. Anthony was a great speaker, was unmarried with no children, so she could travel to the conventions and read the speeches that Stanton wrote.
