Concerts
The Concert that took place Friday night at the Performing Arts Center featured a very small group. Understanding the texture was a little confusing at first because it sounded like homophony and polyphony at the same time. The works of Stravinsky were part of the groups program. The concert was truly interesting to myself for many different reasons. I walked in the concert with the bias opinion that it would not interest me, due to my preference of music. By the time I walked out the door, I had broaden my musical intellect. When I first heard the music I thought something was up because it wasn’t typical. We then discussed in class about how Stravinsky emerged during a time when people were bored with the way music sounded and wanted to do something to change it.
