The last 4 years at Diamond Bar High School the number of students ditching class has increased significantly. During the school year of 2000 there were over 40 students who cut class or ditched school per week. ... The consequences did escalate from detentions to Saturday school however the students are continuing to ditch classes and cut school. These students that cut class have the potential to leave school grounds and commit crimes such as gang activities, drugs, and vandalism. Over the last 4 years of school there were over 100 complaints stating that students are school fences that are adjacent to the neighboring homes. ... These students will not cease to cut class and will continue to do so unless the school takes actions.
The reason being is that the students do not take school policies and the punishments seriously enough. ... These are solid evidence in proving why the students persist to cut school and ditch classes.
