Cisneros

In the two stories written by Cisneros, “Eleven” and “Barbie-Q”, they are told from the viewpoints of a young girl. ... Both of these narrators are opposite to what Cisneros describes about herself in her own description of herself as a Latina writer. ... In Cisneros’ description of herself, she says that she is determined and that she is the paw in the lions paw. ... The two girls are similar to Cisneros though because of the fact that they do have a vision of change, it is just their approach that is different. As a reader, it seems as by writing as these two girls Cisneros expels her inner fears of not being able to obtain change or being idle and not chasing after what she believes in. Therefore, it seems that writing is a type of therapy that allows Cisneros to become a stronger person.
