Article Review Growing up Digital Summary The article was about how technology and mainly the internet is harmful for teenagers growing up. It talked about how children growing up get “hooked” on the internet and video games. The author said that the kids that are “hooked” on computer technology are often perceived as isolated, glued to the screen, and don’t want to do anything but be on the computer. The article also said that even educational material on the web/computer does nothing but entertain the students rather than teach them anything. The author believes that when students are using the internet, they are no longer concerned with learning. Another opinion in the article was that although the children can play, learn and communicate on the web, they do not learn the social skills needed to live a daily life. They also do not build relationships, as other children do that play outside with others and do activities outside of their home. Some are concerned about development in children that depend on computers.
