Dune - Frank Herbert The sci-fi fantasy world is divided into two camps, in a similar manner to the OOP camp- Java vs. C++; so also there is a not so cold war going on between the people who claim ‘Lord Of the Rings ‘ as the best fantasy book ever, and those who would introduce the death penalty for all the non-readers of ‘Dune’. I would prefer to steer away from such holistic debates, but considering the fact there is an avid fan following of LOTR in our college, I would like to tell them in a hushed whisper, that it was Dune which won the prestigious Hugo award for the best fantasy series of the century.
