Psychoanalytical Views of Adolescence
Psychoanalytical Views of Adolescence Sigmond Freud was the originator of psychoanalytical theory of human psyco sexual development pertaining to psycho-sexual pleasure. Freud described adolescence as a period of sexual excitment, anxiety, and occasionally personality disturbance. Freud believes there are five stages through birth through early adolescence. These are the ages 0-13. The oral stage is the first of 5stages. This stage begin at birth and lasts until the age of 1 year. The oral stage is described as the period of growth when a child's primary source of pleasure and satisfaction come's oral activity. This include's when a child is breast fed, her infant is cuddled, caressed, kissed, and rocked. The child draw's physical satisfaction, warmth, secrutiy and pleasure from this activity. As the child grows to the ages of 2 and 3 years they give up sucking their mother's breast and become more focused on activities that they can carry out themselves, such as; feeding themselves or potty training. This stage is follo wed with interest of their own sexual organs and examining them. This stage is referred to as the Phallic stage that parsist from ages 4 to 6 years.
