This view is interested in how transmission of cultural norms ensures stability of both families and the society in which they are part of. Structural functionalists view the important functions of the family as providing for physical protection of its members, providing for emotional well-being of its members, and producing & shaping new individuals who will, as adults, be prepared to take their place in society Assignment #2 1) Socialization in sociology is very important because it deals with the connection between an individual and the society, and how the individual adapts to social needs.
