Comparison and Contrast Football is a very physical sport. Every person on the field has to be in great physical condition to avoid a serious injury. There are two positions that require enormous running ability as well as athleticism, defensive back and wide receiver. Most teams match up their best at both positions in hopes of equalizing the others threat. Both must have a reasonable amount of speed and the ability to make a sharp “cut” or turn at full speed. A wide receiver can make a big catch for his team and affect the momentum of a game in a matter of seconds; just as a defensive back can make an interception changing the momentum.
