An Unforgettable Teacher
Do you have ˇ°An Unforgettable Teacher?ˇ± One whose example or instruction still guides you today? Hi, I'm Elisa Morgan and welcome to MOMSense. ˇ°My high school English teacher, Judy, encouraged us to write in three drafts,ˇ± writes Mom Anna Spry. ˇ°First, a rough draft, letting all thoughts flow, not worrying about grammar in case it should hinder the creative process. Second, we reorganized the rough draft using the rules of good writing. Then, after someone else checked for errors, we polished our writing and offered our best work.ˇ°Rarely do we have the opportunity in life to go at three drafts. It doesn't often happen on the job, and certainly not in raising children. You only have one chance to handle each situation, although how you do so can follow you the rest of your life.ˇ°Still, what Judy taught me went beyond drafts and correct spelling.
