“A Jury of Her Peers” In “A Jury of Her Peers” we have a lot of disrespect of women going on. The two women in the story have to make a big decision in the end and this disrespect really influences there decision. The key element in this entire story is the disrespect of women, but this was a very common thing at the time the story was written. “Nothing here but kitchen things,” he said, with a little laugh for the insignificance of kitchen things” (Glaspell, 568). It is pretty clear what he is doing in that statement, making fun of women. “Mrs. Peter’s husband broke into a laugh.
