Yes, following these traits would make for a more affective advocate. 3.Describe briefly Cohen’s moral agent and pure legal advocate concepts of a lawyer. With which of these concepts do you agree? Defend your answer. The moral agent concept is representative of a morally good person. By following these concepts the lawyer can effectively practice law and maintain a ethical lifestyle. The pure legal advocate concept is consistent with an immoral way of life thus creating an immoral professional practice. I agree with the moral agent concept. If a lawyer follows this concept he can practice moral autonomy and ethically choose between right and wrong. 4. Discuss the merit of the following statement of Cohen’s: “I am supposing that a lawyer cannot easily detach his professional life from his private life and thereby cannot easily be one sort of person with one sort of values in the one life, and a quite different sort with quite different values in the other life.
