6* Row # 5 Man is one of those rare species that have done a lot more than simply existing. In his attempt to survive and prosper, man has often encroached upon the rights of other forms of life including his own fellow men. Man’s struggle for power and superiority is as old as humanity itself. Demagogues like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini have succeeded in influencing the masses and leaders like them are likely to succeed in the future as well, because they tell the people what they want to hear. Political leaders like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini have proved to be curses upon the human race. Their immoral practices and policies have ensured that the world remembers them for their misdeeds, long after they are dead. It was under the leadership of Adolf Hitler that the Aryan race emerged in Germany. This race only included blue-eyed, fair haired men who had no Jewish ancestors. The members of the Aryan race started the darkest phase in human history-The Holocaust. They began a campaign to exterminate the Jewish race because the Jews were considered the lowest race. The inhuman actions of Hitler’s Nazi party made it the most feared organization of all times. From the project that we did on the Holocaust, I was able to learn valuable lessons that shall benefit me in the future. The first and foremost thing that the project and the book, NIGHT, taught me was to value life. I firmly believe in a life after death and this is the main reason why I am not afraid to die. I have always been taught that my life on earth is a small preparatory period for an eternal life with God. When such ideas are infused into a person’s mind from childhood then he or she is not likely to be afraid of death. These ideas influence me as well. Before this project I viewed life as a preparatory phase.
