"Sonnys Blues," by James Baldwin, is the story of two brothers coming together to learn about one another. ... The narrator goes to Sonnys apartment where they have it out once again, this time for good, or so it seems, because the next time they speak is after he gets out of jail. ... The narrator is at conflict with Sonnys lifestyle and choices and doesnt really know how or what to do to change their relationship and Sonnys life. He lives life looking through an entirely different looking-glass, and due to Sonnys "rocky" past, isnt very trusting of sure of him. ... The narrator, on the other hand, has a hard time seeing Sonnys side of life, and this only adds to the frustration that both sides are feeling, as they both try to reach out to one another. ... He tells Sonnys story but reveals his own story in the process.
