In the 1950’s there were many movies made to reflect what was going on in the United States and abroad. Such movies as “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, “War of the Worlds”, and “The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms” were horror movies created with an underlying meaning to give Americans a viewpoint on Communism and Nuclear threats. ... The United States had to outsmart the Russians to stop the world from being overrun by communism. ... This is basically what was stated by President Truman in the Truman Doctrine, that if communism wasn’t put to a halt, they wouldn’t have a say of whether or not they wanted to be a part of it because with its spread they wouldn’t be able to fight it if enough countries were communistic, because it would be impossible to fight over half of the world.
