Phone Booth
A Review
By Astrid Edwards
Phone booth. Phone bore. It is a great shame that despite the overwhelming attraction of not only the fast-paced trailer but also the accompanying material – poster, dvd packaging et al, Phone Booth rather like the Pizza Guy as featured at the beginning of the film – fails to deliver. ... Phone Booth was pushed as a blockbuster – see the vaguely hysterical taglines “Hang up and You Die” “Your Life is on the Line”. ...
I think the first three minutes of Phone Booth are by far the best – a stylishly shot (Mathew Libatique), fantastically well-edited montage of electronic and digital information swooping around the City of New York.
