Joachim Fest used Character as one of his main methods of supporting his position statement, he allowed one to see Hitler as a human being and this allows us to understand Hitler. ... In no way is Fest trying to convey that Hitler is normal but quit the opposite, but for people to realize the magnitude of his achievements they would have to realize that he once was normal and that he is still human like them and therefore sharing in the same characteristics.

The Narrative Style in Hitler is was make this large biography not only supportive of the authors position statement but allowing it to be more convincing.
