I can hear him say, “Just trust your board” I remember these words as I thrust myself forward. He better be right, And for a second I’m sure he is, I stand to my feet and I trust my fate. It feels as if I’ll make it down the face, If I just trust my board, Then I’m not so sure, as I see just air below. I dive off my board at the peak of disaster, I try to go under, but the monster is just so much faster. I’m in a froth of white mixed in with gray, I just want to be out of this calamity That they call the ocean, where I’ve once had fun, But now I’m only scared.
