     Throughout the last decade music has revolutionized in something that everyone can relate to. Different types of genres of music have developed and changed over time. Rock music is one of the many genres that have made music what it is today. This essay will be discussing and comparing a mainstream rock group and a punk rock band in the late 1970s. The main focus of this essay will be on many concepts such as the chart statistics, the arrangement, the production and the instrumentation of both rock and punk rock while relating to two musical examples KISS “ “ and The Sex Pistols “God Save the Queen”.
     The social aspect of rock and punk rock is very significant when talking about the specific audiences. Punk rock wanted to change from mainstream rock. ... What an artist wore became as important as the music itself in definging the intent and relationshup to the audience.
