Lois Aspin (2000) defined sociology as “a systematic analysis of the social world, to study human social relationships, social institutions and social interaction”. The study of sociology suggested, different environments and social class, affected health, this was then labelled as health sociology. John Germov (2002: 3) described health sociology as being made up of two contemporary issues being cure or treatment (biomedical model) and the other preventative (risk factors). Germov (2002) also demonstrated that health is also determined through inequality in Australia, and focuses on social patterns, and illness such as lifestyle and working conditions. ...
Good health is something people all strive to achieve. ... However, health is more than just physical. The World Health Organisation stated in 1946, that “health is complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Health over time has improved significantly over the past century.
