A Child Called It.

The book called A Child Called It, is about a boy who's name is actually David who has a wonderful family so wonderful they think of themselves as the 60's Brady Bunch. Until one day his mother goes wild. She starts acting different and they cant figure out why until she starts beating David and it gets worse and worse. She does just absolutely horrid things to him. She tells him he is a bad boy and starts to brainwash him and she makes him say to himself ‘I am worthless and I hate myself but David is strong willed and doesn't believe it. One day she gets mad and drunk and tells him to take off all his clothes and she makes him lay on top of the stove when its on. But he gets out of it. She doesn't ever show any emotion towards him and he just cant figure out why his mom is so mean to him. She gets so bad that a little farther in the book he thinks of how they used to go camping on the Russian River and one time they go and when his brothers and father aren't there she makes him eat poop.
