aaaaaaaaaa hhag aaaaaaaaaaa 1. The poem "In Westminster Abbey" is a satire in many examples. First of all the poem would be considered a satire because the entire poem is simply the poet mocking the higher classes and exposing the faults in society. "Protect them Lord in all their fights, And even more, protect the whites." this quote is an example of how the poet uses his satiristic poem in exposinf flaws in society because in the quote he is showing the racist attitude that existed towards blacks (Betjeman Stanza: 3 Line: 5-6). "So, Lord, reserve for me a crown, And do not let my shares go down." the poet mocks the upper classes by showing how they really don't care for the poor fighting men as long as their own lives aren't alter for the worst and they want it to seem that they are doing all the can even though they refuse to get themselves in any real danger (Stanza: 5 Line: 5-6).
