Uefa seeks bigger Keane ban Preview: Man Utd v Porto Uefa has lodged an appeal against its own control and disciplinary body over the one-match ban given to Manchester United captain Roy Keane. The Irishman was found guilty of improper conduct after his red card for standing on Porto keeper Vitor Baia. It meant he was automatically banned for the second leg of the Champions League tie at Old Trafford on Tuesday. But Uefa now wants Keane's challenge to be considered as assault, which would result in at least a three-match ban. Under article 50 of the Uefa disciplinary regulations, the body has the power of appeal against verdicts taken by its disciplinary authorities The appeal hearing is likely to take place on the afternoon of 19 March.
