There are many beliefs in this world, many that people would gladly pay the ultimate price for. Yet, there is one in particular that catches my eye. This past weekend I spent the weekly holiday, the Sabbath, with my dad and some of his family. My dad’s brother and his wife came to visit from Israel. I had never met them, so it was quite a treat for me. Friday afternoon I made my way to my dad’s house where I was welcomed with open arms by my unknown relatives. I knew from the start it would be an interesting weekend, considering neither of them spoke English. My father and his family grew up in a mixed culture, giving them the gift of speaking a variety of languages, including Hebrew, French, and Spanish.
