Francesca justifies this by telling Dante, “Love, which permits no loved one not to love, took me so strongly with delight in him that we are one in hell, as we were above.” Dante feels compassion for this woman because he understands you cannot change or resist your true love. ... In What Dreams May Come the souls in hell still have human bodies, while in Dante’s Inferno the souls are bodiless. ... In Dante’s Inferno a more religious view of hell is used which doesn’t include souls having their own inverse. ...
