Identity Identity: everybody has one, but it is trying to figure what it is that is the hard part. Everyone must do it thought and struggle to find out who they are; this is the case of edger Joseph, also known as edger eagle runner. The main character of the short story “class” written by Sherman Alexie. The story of a Native American man searching for his identity and finding out who he is. This proves to be a difficult task and leads him to discover more than he may want to, and realize a lot about himself Identity, everyone has their own, it is just that finding it can be the trouble. This can be seen in the short story “ class” written by, Sherman alexie A story where the main character, a Native American searches for his own identity, which proves to be a taxing experience that he must go through, Edger Joseph is a Native American man. But he is more than that he is a husband a, lawyer and too many people this would define who he is. He needs more than this because he is torn. He will often use his two names in different situations. His legal name Edger Joseph to when he is working or his colleagues, but then use Edger Eagle Runner to meet women or to down plan how much money he has and his white lifestyle. It can be said that he is not proud of his Native American culture, he gets this from his mother who when asked will tell people that she his Spanish.
