On September 11, America awoke to watch its symbol of capitalism fall to the earth. Since then, many things have changed and the name Osama bin Ladin, and the words Al Queda and Taliban became common vocabulary amongst coffee shop conversation. The unity of the U.S. has never been stronger. Just yesterday I watched a candlelight vigil at ground zero. It seems no one has forgotten as of yet. Although it seems like yesterday to me, September 11 marked two whole years since patriotism awoke and continues to soar today. I never saw so many American flags as I did in the months after 9/11. The attack didn’t only affect Americans pride; it affected our stock market and economy which continues to suffer today. The adding cost of eradicating terrorism and fighting wars that were spawned from the attacks isn’t helping either.
