Bump and Grind: Little girls Strut their Stuff In the essay Susanna Rodell wrote, she complains about many things. Such as little girls are forced to grow up faster, and the so called “pop culture” only adds to it. Girls are growing up watching television and seeing all these teen idols. People such as Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Lil’ Kim. They are always trying to dress and act as inappropriately as possible. Peer pressure is so intense that most girls succumb to the pressure and lose who they truly are. Ms. Rodell was angry with this because her daughter was being made fun of, simply because she wouldn’t conform. Girls are starting younger and younger, first it started with the high school level girls. Now it has moved to elementary schools. If girls do not wear the correct clothing then they are ridiculed and laughed at.
