ANTECEDENTS In February of the 2000, the industralist of free fight of the WWF Vince McMahon, formally announced creation of a new league of american football of $100 million dollars, the XFL, which would offer I authenticate extreme soccer. In March of that same year Dick Ebersol, president of sports of the NBC, announced his association with McMahon in this adventure of the XFL. ... The 3 of February of the 2001, the XFL inaugurated their season generating a rating of 10,1 in the their first game, highest for any program televised in national chain for a Saturday in afternoon from the end of the Olympic Games of the last summer. The following week the rating lowered and for the ninth week of the season the games of the XFL gained the title of the televised sport event with lower rating in history. The partners of the XFL officially announced the closing of the league the 10 of May of 2001, with losses combined of near $70 million dollars, the XFL took the place from of the most spectacular fiascos in the history of the modern sports and television. ... The XFL would be a league of professional soccer conformed by 8 equipment in one season of 10 weeks that would make debut in February of the 2001, after the Super Bowl, would gamble in the North American cities of Washington, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Trimming, Miami and other two cities to define. The XFL offered to bring of return soccer to their roots, offering to contract players of the golden years of the NFL to work as trainers and referees of the league. The XFL would be a league oriented to people with prices of $25 dollars by ticket, more cheap than the NFL, which would guarantee greater access to families and people of low income. Televising chain NBC announced that it would take 50% from $100 million that would cost the project and that would in the evening transmit the games of the XFL Saturdays, additionally the league could have contracts with other television transmitters to transmit the other games.
