The Taichi Series is a series of sculptures, each depicting a figure in one of the distinct traditional movements of the Asian art form of Tai Ji Quan. The “Single Whip” is one of the most advanced movements in the practice. The “Taichi Single Whip” is a large and rigid statue made of solid bronze, and is considered by critics to be the most popular component of the Taichi Series. The statue depicts a faceless Tai Ji Quan practioner in a crouch with the right knee bent, left leg straight, and arms outspread in a way that is almost parallel to the legs.
