Double Indemnity To kill or not to kill, that is the question. Weather it is the book or the movie, Double Indemnity is the type of murder story that keeps you on your toes. Even though they may have the same story line they are very different in many ways. In the book, when Phyllis and Huff are at the railroad tracks, they almost forget to toss Mr.Nirdlinger’s hat out the window, and in the movie they remember the hat but the car wont start. Even though it wasn’t that big of a change it did make the movie a little more risky in that particular clip. Another miner detail that was in the movie, but not the book was when they got done with the whole murder, and Phyllis was dropping him off, they didn’t kiss one another or even talk to one another. However in the movie they did kiss and talk to one another in the car.
