BENEFITS OF COMPUTERS IN SCHOOLS (Computer Based Instruction CBI) Provide Additional Classroom Resources Thanks to the computer many tools have been added to the classroom repertoire including spell-check and text editors, thesaurus, multimedia encyclopedias, CD ROM knowledge bases, and CAI remedial and tutoring programs. These supplement teaching resources and provide new ways to teach and learn including student-centered approaches such as individual research and cooperative group projects. Enhance Students’ Skills Computers increase motivation because students enjoy getting information from screens whether computer, video, or TV. Computer applications such as spreadsheet, database, and alphanumeric processing foster critical thinking skills.
