Twenty Thousand leagues Under the Sea was written by the father of Science Fiction, a visionary French novelist and a dramatist called Jules Verne. In his scientific writings he alludes to a number of scientific devices and developments that were created later on in history. Some of the inventions he imagined were created later in his life time, but some are still to be invented. The story is based on a social satirical reprimand that eludes verbal and situational irony through the whole novel. The whole story reflects some aspects that have been touched in the course. The social background restates evidence of man in conflict with another man, man in conflict in nature or a man in conflict with his self. As Captain Nemo and the internal problems that surround his crew Arronax the scientist, Conseille his apprentice and Ned Land the great harpooner.
