Maximum displacement Course topics and methodologies: Kinematics, Trigonometry and Vector Arithmetic, and 2-D Kinematics. Equipment: Ping pong ball, ping-pong ball gun, meter stick, and cup large enough for ball to land in. In this project, we will be testing to see at which angle a projectile should be shot in order to achieve maximum displacement. It is predicted that maximum displacement will be achieved by shooting at an angle of 45 degrees from the horizon. This project will show that a projectile will not reach maximum displacement when shot parallel to the horizon. The force of gravity and its affect on the projectile along with its constant velocity in the x direction are among the behaviors this project will be studying.
