Dachshunds are a very lively, affectionate, proud, bold, tenacious, willful, and clownish breed of dog. Dachshund’s originated in Germany, where they were bred for badger hunting. There are three different sizes; normal (standard), miniature (dwarf), and toy. The normal size is usually 20 pounds, the miniature size is normally 9 pounds, and the toy size is usually 5-8 pounds. The Dachshund has a tendency to become lazy and overweight and that adds strain to the back, which leads to Dachshund Paralysis. The Dachshund has oval shaped eyes that are colored black to brown, and have a friendly expression to them. The ears of this breed are very mobile and tend to hang to their cheeks.
