At most colleges, you'll have opportunities to attend prospective student events. These programs usually include a meal and activities that give you an overview of campus life. They're a great opportunity to meet people...including your potential classmates. But you may get a better idea of ordinary campus life if you schedule a visit of your own. That way you get to watch the true everyday activities of the campus. You'll miss some of the frills of an open house, but you'll get a better feel for what the campus is really like. Make sure you eat in the dining hall, visit a residence hall, sit in on a class and meet current students and faculty.
