A Turnover problem at the Herald Newspaper ads seem to be the best recruiting tool, available to the herald. An advantage of the newspaper ads is that many times you will get a newspaper reader that will be applying for the job. Therefore they understand the need and want for the newspaper and can relate to the customer. Also, the newspaper is a known source for job opportunities, yet it also allows those who may not be specifically looking for this job an opportunity to read it in passing. A Disadvantage is that you miss a large demographic of people who do not receive newspapers and/or do not read them. Yet as shown by the high number of people who applied for the job and the 45% yield of those who stay for six months it is an asset. Websites have the advantage of being readily available to those who want it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Yet, the internet overall has been found to be a crutch in searching for a job. Only 12% of those searching the net for a job credited finding one to the internet search. In fact over 50% overall didn’t even get an interview to a job that matched their skills and needs for employment.
