This electoral college to this day has been in the middle of the dilemma of those who favor it and those who oppose it. All this being the result of events that have proven that the Electoral College has evolved into something the Fouding Fathers did not expect, and hitherto has led to the question “ Is the Electoral College a truly democratic institution. The electoral College needs to be abolished because their is no longer need for it, and its original purpose has been outdated.
When the founding father first created the electoral college they did so because they did not trust the common people. ... People are more capable of making decisions and having a say in government, and the electoral college serves as a barrier that prevents people from actually having a say in who they want as their executive. ... The electoral college is only limiting the voice of the people. Not only is the electoral college a system that is outdated, but is also a system with many flaws. One of the two greatest flaws noticeable, is the fact that wtih the electoral college the winner of the popular vote is not necessarily the winner of the electoral vote.
