The US has a history of Immigration. The whole country is made up of every ethnic group. Since the birth of this country immigrants from all over the world moved here looking for new opportunities and a new life. This is the “American dream”. In the post cold war era the United States is trying to cut back on the number of immigrants coming into the United States. The border between the United States and Mexico is the main focus. Thousands of Latinos migrate across this border every year and they are perceived as a problem. Government legislation perceives them as criminals but what is it that they are doing wrong. They are doing the same things that the rest of the American people are doing: chasing the “American Dream”.
